There are a lot of folks unhappy with the recent change to the Splendor User Interface (UI). The post by Stellera on boardgamearena.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=37706&hilit=splendor&start=30 articulates a number of shared complaints.

If this is not possible (some speculate this is a requirement from the game's right holder), please provide an explanation as to why, so the BGA community can be informed.

Specifically, the new graphics are very difficult to read by many. This is an accessibility issue, as low vision users can no longer play the game.

Lightly colorblind here. Unplayable unfortunately... It takes a lot of brain power to analyze which card is which color, etc.

Please let us have the original version back, I cannot scan the new version easily. It's far too confusing to the point where I have stopped playing the game.

I find the new interface harder to read as well. There is more going on visually and the skinnier, italic font numbers don't stand out as much. This is not an aesthetic issue (I find the new version pretty, that's not the problem), nor is it a hatred of change. As others have pointed out, it is harder to scan quickly. Even the colors are slightly harder to distinguish, even though I'm not the least bit colorblind!

Please allow an option where you can switch between the old and new interfaces. BGA has done this for other games that can be hard on the eyes, so why not this one?

I agree with the above statements, new version is hard to play, there is too much going on and it requires a lot more time to check what is actually needed to make the move.

as others have said, this version is significantly harder to play! I'm someone with visual processing issues and I am finding this taxing in a way it was not before

SPLENDOR IS THE REASON I JOINED BGA, but the new design hurts my eyes. It is now too difficult to distinguish card colors and I am not even color blind. I was able to play so fast with the old cards, but now it takes too long to to figure out the colors, costs and point values. If these are the the only graphics option, I may have to stop playing. What happened? It's not just that the new graphics are ugly and jarring, but it feels like someone just decided to torture us as players.

Agreed. Allow players the option to choose the old design or the new design. The old design is disability-friendly; the new design is much harder on the eyes. Some people might like the new design, thus the correct choice being to allow players to choose which view is better for them. Thank you!

This is really important for most of us players! Please bring back the prior graphics design (the one in use of BGA for many years - first half of 2024 and prior).
That design was perfect. The colors and gem icons were easily, quickly, and nicely distinguishable. The new design takes more effort to distinguish the colors and analyze the cards on the tableau.

I have not started a new game of Splendor since this UI change was implemented. I used to always have one or two turn-based games on the go. I miss playing, but the UI change is enough of a issue for me that I've stopped playing on BGA.

Please allow us to revert to the original. My eyesight is poor and I am now unable to play one of my favorite games.

More than 90 days without playing Splendor. I think I used to like this game a lot... been so long those times are starting to fade from memory.
