Having the number of cards in the discard pile be represented on top of the top card means I keep thinking that number is the number is the number of the card (eg first turn of this game a 4 leaf was the statement but the giant number "1" on top of it made me think it was a 1 leaf). I know it's technically put also in the statement box but the discard pile provides a much larger visual of the card and so that is what the eye is drawn to. Having the number of cards in the discard pile recorded next to the "discard pile" text would help eliminate this.
