#137321: "Diplomacy gem bonuses feel wrong"

I play mostly asynchronous, and I have had my diplomacy rewards set to "always ask" and have not been getting notifications between turns to chose my diplomacy bonuses. What is more- I have been coming back to my game to see my Gem hoard has ballooned! In one turn, I went up to 34 gems. When I recently logged it, one of my opponents had more than 50 GEMS. In my real life games, I hardly ever have more than 20 GEMs, even when I have my diplomacy humming.

Something must be off here.
