Add designer variant for fixed timed disasters
"If your group would like to continue using the disasters but doesn't enjoy the "take that" nature of how they're played, try following only the disaster tile swaps step above. Then, at the start of each Generation, roll a d6 and place it on the appropriate disaster tile in the center of the table. After each turn, reduce the die's value by one, and when it reaches zero that disaster immediately occurs in all cities. Much thanks to rahdo for the idea!"

Report history
Please select the game varaint "Random disasters" when starting the game.
This is exactly the variant I implemented based on this BGG suggestion.
I totally understand your confusion about random disaters. For example that they might occure randomly without early warning any time during a generation.
Fixed disasters could be disasters always at the end of each generation. So this is also not 100% clear.
Both our namings (fixed and random) can be confusiong.
