Using the tech card with special action to double bonus chips collected during movement I was going up the center branch was at the 3rd space trying to move to the 6th with the add student bonus on this route.

Tried to do this many times undoing the action and picking it again and made sure to do it in what seemed the correct order (refreshed tab, shut down and restarted site)
To keep the game moving i did the move without activating the special action and worked fine but the reason it didnt work does not seem to be explained in the rules
