What happened? Please select from below
Rules: a rule of the game has not been followed
Detailed description
• Which part of the rules was not followed by the BGA adaptation?
In the rules for Tikal (e.g. www.riograndegames.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Tikal-Rules.pdf) it states that you may place a camp in any empty clearing, and it is not necessary to have an expedition member present.
The game implementation requires an expedition member to be present. Not only is this a big change, but it is contrary to the rules.• Is the rules violation visible on game replay? If yes, at which move number?
The rules violation is easily reproducible and can even be seen in the game aid.• Which browser are you using?
Google Chrome v129

Denis • Bug has not been reproduced by developers yet:
Oct 20th 2024 4:51 • I have played Tikal for over 20 years and have always played it according to the printed rules above. I'm not sure if the implementation is based on some new edition, or is simply a house rule.
Recommend
1) make it an optional rule that the game creator can select.
2) put a very visible notice to the players about how this rule is enforced, otherwise I'm sure a lot of people are going to be surprised

Sir Heo • This bug is a duplicate of another bug:
Oct 20th 2024 10:53 • Indeed, it's an update to the rules approved by K&K, it's in place since 2017. You can upvote ticket boardgamearena.com/bug?id=118315 where it's suggested to make it as an optional rule.
