Detailed description

• Please copy/paste the error message you see on your screen, if applicable.
So it seems the ability to separate scraps has been implemented, which you should be able to do it comes from 2 different upgrades, but currently if you play say Turbo Charger 8 you are given the option to scrap 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, you should not be able to do this, you have to scrap the entire 6 at once to that one upgrade. With how it's currently implemented it's massively abusable to eg. scrap 1 at a time trying to scrap low numbers before boosting.

Report history
So I have Turbo Charger 8, Air Intake 4 and Gas Pedal 4
Move #230 I play both, I have 6 cards left in my deck, 1 of which I know is a heat. The point of separating scraps is for this exact situation, for multiple reasons. Firstly I don't want to boost 3 or 4, because I want to get in tight to the chicane with Gas Pedal 4, and then I overshoot, but I also want to supercool the heat. Under the old implementation I'd have to scrap 10 and hope for the best off reshuffle, but I believe under the rules I should be able to scrap 6 to Turbo Charger 8, super cool the heat I know is there, then boost into the reshuffle, then scrap 4 to Air Intake 4.
You can do this under current implementation, but I shouldn't be given 10 different scrap options like I am 1-10, I should be given options to scrap 4 (Air Intake 4), scrap 6 (Turbo Charger 8), scrap 10 (Combined to save time if I don't care), being able to scrap 1 at a time is abusable in situations where you are looking to boost a certain number, and to be clear I didn't abuse it here, I made what I believe is a legal play. The other side of this is that many options is making the interface hard to navigate for such a move, and I was playing on laptop, it would have been much worse on mobile to see something like 17 different buttons as options in the react step, whole bunch of which shouldn't be there.
Move #506
Gives a good demonstration of the problem. The player in question (I have their permission to post this) plays Turbo Charger 8, Air Intake 4, +, flip 4, then with 4 cards left in deck, they know they really need to boost another 4 and they have 2 4's in their bottom 4 cards, so they start scrapping 1 by 1 to eventually leaving a 4 on bottom to boost into and then do the rest of the scrap.
Now, I spoke to the player in question, they simply weren't aware this shouldn't be a legal play, which is the problem.
They should have had the option to scrap 4 (AI 4), scrap 6 (TC 8), or scrap 10 (combining both), but you shouldn't be able to scrap 1 by 1 because it allows gaming of the system for boosts, potential heat searching for super cool etc.
Move: #562
Another example of scraping used for an advantage with boosting. The player (I asked for their permission to post this) in question played turbo charger 8 4,4,3 landing 3 spaces behind the leader. He knew the was one 4, two 3s and a 1 in his deck and needed the 4 to win. He scraped one of the 3s then boosted and got the 4 winning the race before scraping the rest of his deck. It was a 1/3 chance but he should not have been about to scrap the 3 before finishing his scrap. Obviously luck was involved but his options should have been boost and get a 3 or scrap, reshuffle his deck and boost with with a 1/9 chance of a 4.
Not only did this impact the race, causing him to win when the deck not setup for the win, but this race was a part of a Swiss system tournament.
So he received the full 10 points for the finish, instead of 8 for second. This was one of the higher-placed players games with everyone winning their first race were matched together for this race. These were the players leading the tournament in points so those points could have an impact on the tournaments outcome as well. I only want to stress the impact of these moves because they are not meaningless moves, but ones that can impact game winners and tournaments results.
