Trying to play with 3 different friends (3 different accounts at 3 separate locations) 2 of them are getting the error:
Playing from the same location is a Premium feature: Go Premium now! when trying to join a friends only game

I'm having the same issue. I play in a group with other people in London and for some reason the same two of us get the "same location" error when trying to join a game. We are not in the same location. This even persists when we change to other devices.

I get this problem very often when we are not using the same wifi IP and even when I am trying to play with a friend from another country.
I doubt that the problem is more connected with correlated emails situation and not the location since when we register with completely uncorrelated email accounts, we don't get this issue.
(If somehow the email of the 2nd player was once used on the device of the other person then it is guaranteed you will get this problem, even if you are on the opposite sides of the globe)

I'm having the same issue. My friend logged in through my laptop once and then logged out. Now we can't play together saying that we are in the same location even though we are not.

Tried playing with coworkers and kept experiencing the same location error. We are all in different locations, but had to drop our VPN connection, switch to incognito mode, and even switch to 4G mobile connections to get past it. Very annoying issue. And what's with the "Bug has not been reproduced by developers yet" message in this thread? It's been over a year since the first comment. Perhaps its time to re-think this rule as a Premium only feature? I'm trying to get my coworkers to start using BGA for social time, and you'd get more customers out of it if this were fixed. Today, 5 out of 15 players in a tournament I was hosting had this problem.

We're playing together with a bunch of colleagues for an online teambuilding and we're experiencing this problem as well. We're all on a VPN but it should give us distinct IP addresses still. Note: in a group of 8, all on the same VPN, only two colleagues suffer from this problem, and across sessions, it shifts from one set of colleagues to another?

Unfortunately once you log into your account when you're in the same place as another player, the site remembers that, and won't let you play together in the future, even if you later use VPN or hotspot.

Could not join a table because it said a user (ludo62) and I were at the same location. I do not know them, and also according to their profile they live in France (I'm in the USA). I tried joining that table repeatedly after refreshing, got the same error message.

I have the same issue and not for the first time.
It only seems to happen with people which I do see in person from time to time.
So, we meet for gaming IRL, their devices connect to my WLAN (but NOT for BGA!) or I am using theirs on my phone. Let me state this clearly again: we meet, but do NOT play on BGA together!
Then, days later (!) when everybody is at their own home or workplace (up to 50 km apart!), one of us starts a new game. And one or all of us get the bug saying „you play from the same location as …“.
For me it currently states: (ol03z1) - maybe that can help?
It only seems to happen with people which I do see in person from time to time.

Boredgamearena logged into my boyfriend's account automatically because I have his Facebook account on my phone. He lives in the Philippines. It gave us the "same location" warning and refused to let us play together ever since.

I am having the issue. different IP. message of same location. Just because there was a connection from the same location before on the two account. It seems like the location or the IP precedent of the accounts is stored. which (if it is the case), as stored nominally is against GRDP rules for European users.

Same problem with me, tired to play with a person in the city next to me. I have been to their house and played on my account on their network with others (not that person) online, but now when I am back at home, we cannot play together as it says "we are in the same location." We obviously are not, not same IP, not same computers, or same location. I think it is saving IP addresses and just assumes that we are trying to circumvent using a VPN or something when we are not.

Thank for reporting the issue. Playing from the same location is a premium feature.
However, the issue is confirmed and you might face it when logged from several devices at the same time.
As a workaround, you can disconnect then reconnect from your current device.

Playing from the same location should not be a Premium feature. My wife and I like to play with friends in other locations and we're being punished for being under the same roof while trying to play with other people around the world. This limitation will eliminate our play on this site.

Got the same problem. Played with collegues after work, forget to disable work VPN. But the problem appeared even after disabling, and after changing the device.

I wanted to play with my brother, we set up the account in the same house in Poland, but now I'm in Germany and we are still getting the same error "Playing from the same location is a Premium feature: Go Premium now!". By the way, it shouldn't be a premium feature. People in the same house should be able to play together. But even if you insist on keeping it this way, it doesn't work correctly as we have different IPs now.

Experienced this today as well.
Confirmed two participants were in separate locations. (We were all on a Teams video call.)
Confirmed they are at the same ISP.
ISP seems to have assigned same IPv4 address to both people.
Neither were on VPN.
Could we perhaps get some better location checking from BGBA? Perhaps IPv6 confirmation?
(As for the "should"/"shouldn't" of this protection feature, I kinda get the "why" so I'm staying out of that discussion, and focusing on the please get it to work properly aspect.)

Some players DO log in through the same computer. But later, they may be on different places trying to play together. BGA "remembering" they were ONCE in the same network and blocking FUTURE ACCESS is beyond comprehension and defies all logic. Infuriating.

Just experienced this with a random player when I tried to join a turn-based game, which never happened to me before. The person seems to be located in Brazil while I'm in Sweden. We have no relation whatsoever - no previous games played or anything

O Jogo não deixa eu jogar com outro jogador, dizendo que estamos no mesmo local, quando não estamos (moramos na mesma cidade e nossas casas são próximas, mas não moramos no mesmo lugar), ja jogamos juntos em vezes anteriores e nunca havia tido esse problema. User:FelpsVsilva.
