I propose that the score as evaluated at endgame should be separated from the money totals when one player ends the game.
The game can end very suddenly, and it seems not uncommon that a player could be set to win on the next turn, but have less current money (because it's tied up in goods) than a player who is 5 turns from winning but just sold a bunch of goods, so has more liquid assets.
The simplest solution would seem to be to dissociate the current money from the score, display the money rather than the official endgame score in the sidebar, and just give all non-winners joint 2nd. -

A more complicated and probably divisive solution would be to add some additional points at the end to rank 2nd-3rd-4th by total goods + money or something, but that seems complicated and might be impossible to do well? But it's another idea.
