This happened multiple times in a row. Usually there was a long "sending to server" message, followed by the game returning to the initial state (as it was immediately before I clicked on the originating station), but now with the message that there were no possible actions. Once this happened after a large error message stating that someone had tried to make the same move, but never mind that a player has their own card, I was playing a solo game! I was having no other issues with my internet connection at the time.
