Tags on Event cards are active ONLY while the event is being executed. Once the event is over, those tags are effectively no longer in the game. The tag counter is correct; however, when I played Cartel (#137), I was awarded MC production for all of my earth tags, including one in my Event card stack. In particular, the tag counter said 8 but I was awarded 9.
