You only get the option to "replace". What you should get, according to the rules, is a chance to continue moving from 1C to 1E (and from there I would continue to 2D). This is allowed because although your piece cannot travel thru a position it has already travelled through, the piece *is* allowed to come back through its starting position. Note gyges.com implements this rule correctly. Also note that I have only seen this bug in this starting position - the rule always seems to be implemented correctly later in the game.
