Detailed description
-
• Please copy/paste the error message you see on your screen, if applicable.
Pg 12 - 13 English Print Rules:
Distress-Signals for an easier game: "...DECIDE TOGETHER whether you want to make the use of this assistance then turn the distress signal token to its active side..."
"DECIDE TOGETHER if you will pass the cards to the left or right..."
-
• Please explain what you wanted to do, what you did and what happened
Per the rules in the book the distress signal should a group choice. However, per the BGA implementation any person can press the distress signal without anyone else having a say in this.
Then once activated, the Captain is given the choice on direction, without input from the group.
This clearly violates the concept of "decide together" which indicates a group choice.
Instead, a better method would be to have a button which players could use to indicate their desire to use the distress signal, that would then be codified by a majority rule, with captain being tie-breaker.
The same concept would be used for deciding the direction, by allowing each player a single vote for Right or Left, or no pass or no preference option, with ties being decided by the Captain.
Alternatively allowing an undo if the group decides they do not want to use to distress signal. • Which browser are you using?

Report history
There is a related bug report boardgamearena.com/bug?id=22794 - Distress Signal Direction Chocie - which is listed as "not a bug" however, as you can see per the images attached here, this is incorrect. The choice to use the Distress Signal and to Choose the direction, is a choice made by the group, NOT by the Captain.
