#28210: "Better distinguish the colors. Capital market tooltip. "
What is this report about?
What happened? Please select from below
Suggestion: in my opinion, the following would greatly improve the game implementation
Detailed description
• Please explain your suggestion precisely and concisely so that it's as easy as possible to understand what you mean.
The brown and the black resources in the market are very similar. In the company boards they are instead very easy to see. I suggest you use the same black in the companies board as the color in the market. Two different blacks are just confusing.
The capital market (the bottom one) needs a tooltip to better see the amount of money you have to spend to gain the tile, it's very difficult to see the price.• Which browser are you using?
Google Chrome v86

Dec 7th 2020 18:57 • Two different colours are used for the black cubes in different places, which is very confusing:
This is a building tile which shows a greyish colour to represent black: imgur.com/SIRwzy7
The same grey colour is used above Haymarket Square to denote any colour cube: imgur.com/Oa7mPuD
The actual black coal cube is actually black in colour: imgur.com/EMu2HQ3

Feb 19th 2021 18:10 • The fact this was asked and rejected and proposed again should be a clue to the developers. On different monitors it can be impossible to tell the brown and grey cubes apart and tooltips are a poor solution.
Just because "it's the same as the physical game" is a poor reason to make the game difficult to play for players.
Please reconsider.

Feb 28th 2021 12:16 • I see a lot of new players get confused: They think they need an 'any' colour cube, while in fact they need black. It IS very confusing, and to discover this only as early as when you are producing, this is a real bummer.

Jul 22nd 2022 16:05 • Perhaps creation of a colorblind mode would escape the limitations of needing to look like the real world components. It would be far easier for me to determine grey cube wild vs brown square and black circle coal for example...

Oct 13th 2023 3:18 • Upvoting this. Literally need to use the mouse tooltip to distinguish between black and brown cubes, which makes this very frustrating.
Forgoing the colours and adding a colourblind mode with an option to display the cubes instead of colours with letters like "C, W, S, L" would make it already a lot better.

Jan 29th 2024 22:54 • Black and brown cubes look the same on my screen. I have to hover over them to understand if they are coal or wood. On the phone this is impossible to do. Any visual aid to help distinguish them would make this game a lot more enjoyable to play.
