You'd end-up without the ability to check your opponents reputation / language / preferred games / etc ?
I don't like this idea at all.
I assume games allowing kingmaking are just not suited for competition anyway.
Just someone playing wrong can be devastating already... real competitive games are most often 1v1 (or with defined teams, like the Bridge), for this kind of reasons.
Be it seven wonders, Smallworld, For sale, or whatever "free-for-all" game... I can't see how rankings could be make any real sense here.
The only place where I'd hide oppenents identity would be the game launch, because atm, game auto-launches even if you forgot your tab and people get dropped... this wouldn't happen if you had to confirm the same way you do with normal games.
