On the current season, the arena rule is set to 500pts + no blind nil + 50pts for nil
This results in people trying to get most points from every hand. Most people used of these rules won't find anything wrong but to me it's like basic rules for newcomers just to discover the basics of the game. How come ?
I am used to play with 300points + blind nil activated + and 50 points for normal nil
With this set-up you can decide to lose a hand in order to fully load bags to your opponents and plan a come back on the next hand through a blind nil. This implies a lot of possible strategy running on cards and on the scoring. If your team is leading by 70 points, you have to make sure your team doesn't lead next hand by 100 because the other team could blind nil and come back to score. So you have to keep a close eye on the score and do the math on every hand to make sure you stay ahead but not too much. And also you need to keep a good eye on both team to see if you partner (or the opponent team) is starting to lose on purpose to follow or deny it.
As a conclusion, spades can be a very deep game full of strategies but actually we're having a poor set-up. Please change it to a deeper mod as explained.
