• Please copy/paste the error message you see on your screen, if applicable.
Apologies if this was covered in a previous post (but I did not see one).
It would be great to have an undo button available, due to certain actions requiring multiple steps. It happens occasionally that I'll have misplanned the full sequence of actions and would like to try something different instead. I know these aren't easy to code, but would love to see it for this game.
Some games like Teotihuacan have a checkbox to confirm whether to prompt for undo, that could be useful as well.
Thanks. -

Is this not relevant anymore? Or could anyone please suggest a series of steps which cannot be undone at "Confirm Turn" step?
KuWizard, know that people who comment or thumb up this suggestion will not have seen your comment above unless they come back to this page, which for some is 4 years with no movement. They'll only receive an email notification when the status changes. Anyway, this feature would be a big improvement for the game.
Regarding email notifications - from my experience I was always receiving emails once I commented (not sure about thumbs up) any bug in any game. I am surprised it's not working for everyone... and actually I changed the status of this suggestion to "inforequest" so again, everyone commented should have received it :)

I would say in this specific case the confirmation popup would be better saying "No other player has any wine so you won't get 2 VP, are you sure?". However if this was the only wine in the game, shouldn't you gain 2 VP?
As I see it, you click "Confirm" after each single action in the multiple-actions queue and then, after everything is ok, you'll enter another new state with buttons "Confirm turn" and "Undo". Wouldn't multiple confirmations annoy players?
(Also, the above yoke complaint isn't accurate, and the current implementation is correct there as per the rules linked in the game description. Essential edition rules, P. 12: "On their turn, a player may place a regular worker (or a grande worker acting as a regular worker) on their yoke to uproot 1 vine card (return a vine card from their field to their hand) or harvest 1 field (even in the summer), though the field may only be harvested once per year.")
Thanks for the detailed answer, @AndrewBucholtz!
And you're welcome but I think you're still to see my hard work ;)
The comment "there is a 'Confirm turn' button when you do most of the common actions" - I do not believe I have seen this before. When you have to make a choice the game asks you, but that is not an undo. Once you have made your choice, it ends your turn and moves on to the next player.
For example, when making 2 or 3 wines, we currently confirm after each wine. Instead, if a player could lay out all the wines they want to make at the same time, then confirm, that would be helpful for visualizing and functionally the same as having an undo.
I just saw this post update this evening and I have to say I'm quite impressed that a 4-years old beloved game like Viticulture is finally getting bug fixes!
I agree that Undo is an essential feature to be had, especially if there is no new information provided. Undo should not be possible after card draws. Undo should also not be possible for actions requiring others cooperation as well(Banker, Swindler, Handyman, etc.). But undo should be possible for every other thing.
One example I had recently is when playing the winter visitor Zymologyst. I had 2,3 red grape and 3,4 white grape. I have a wine order for a 3 white and 7 sparkling. With the Zymologist I mistakenly use my 2,3-red and 4-white token to create a sparkling-9, and I cannot make the 3-white because I did not realize that Zymologist needed the wine made with a minimum value of 4. I ended up using another worker to create that 3-white wine and has to fill order the next year instead because all my worker are exhausted that year.
Granted, I still won the game (lucky me) but with the undo feature, I can realize earlier that Zymologist cannot create the 3-white wine, and may do things differently to end the game faster (I have another winter visitor to make wine). It's a small mistake, but it can cost the game.
That is just one example, but I think there are a lot of other implementations that may be similar. Thank you for your attention on this matter, and I'm looking forward to an enhanced version of Viticulture with undo on BGA!
Sincerely,
Strollingstar
Thanks a lot for sharing your experience! That really helps. And yeah, thanks to Jamie Stegmaier Viticulture got some financing and therefore some dev hours :)
This game seems particularly sensitive especially while playing the mobile version to grab ahold of unintended interaction while zooming or scrolling that results in game action and cannot be undone. An undo button would be very helpful or confirming your turn. On multiple occasions I have lost a game because I was unable to undo. For example, with 3 workers in the second to last year, I was accidentally passed without harvesting or fulfilling orders that could have been. I was then in competitive and disengaged from play.
