• Please copy/paste the error message you see on your screen, if applicable.
When you place a tile and someone click "done" at the same time, that time is displayed on the board and the die is greyed out (as if used). However, the area where it was placed is still shown as available for other dices and the "done" button is greyed out. "undo" doesn't work
At this point, you need to restart your turn -

Report history
Something like this happened to me. I got the error message about another player taking an action at the same time. I placed tiles but the game was showing them as still available Couldn't finish my turn before I got timed out.
Reloading the screen works and then you can find out which tile placement didn't work (it's not always obvious, as there's not always an error message at all) and perform that action again.
When I validate a tile position in the same second as an other player is clicking on Done, the tile is placed on the map but the "Please wait, an action is already in progress" error appears.
The tile position seems not to be updated on server side but only on client side.
To be able to continue playing, the only workaround I found is to reload the page.
The exact cause is not clear; it seems to be triggered by placing a tile occurring simultaneous to an action of another player, but it happens too frequently to be simply down to timing of two people placing tiles at the same time.
It can occur at any point in the game.
You place a tile and hit the tick button to accept it, and get a popup notification bar message telling you that another player is already doing an action. That's not ideal, since each player is supposed to be working independently, but it wouldn't be a problem if that was the entirety of the bug.
But when that happens, the bug then cascades into a bigger problem. The tile that was placed remains on the board, and is no longer available to select to play, but it hasn't been sent to the server, so it isn't really there.
This results in a you having to refresh the browser in order to finish playing the round.
On some games, it can also result in moves being lost entirely; eg if the tile being placed is a lake or river, it isn't mandatory to place it in order to finish the turn; if you don't realise you need to refresh, you might end the turn with it on the board but not actually registered with the server, so you think it counts but it doesn't.
My experiences have been the same as ArcLightning's (1) and Spudley's (2):
(1) Especially with multiple players, there have been times where I struggled to place pieces on the board and I ran out of time as a result and then another player with no patience or desire to understand my situation kicked me out without even saying a word. The click noise that signals that another player has finished placing the tiles is also the EXACT SAME sound as that played when my time is running out, and I am so busy trying to refresh and fix my tile placements that I don't realize that someone is so rude as to immediately boot me out the moment my timer is at -0:20 without any interaction with me. This kills my ELO and reputation.
(2) In the games during which I do realize my timer has less than a minute left, this glitch appears at the worst of times. I am trying to quickly place all the pieces down the way I desire and I press "done" only to realize some of the tiles I know I definitely placed have not gone through. I have lost games that I would have otherwise won due to this glitch before. This kills my ELO.
Not everyone does know about the F5 magic, and even then... magic always has it's costs (bandwidth is usually negligible here, reloadinig the page always takes time).
Also, one might just miss the info for some reason. Losing a game due to a vanishing "joker" or lake tile has a really bitter taste, and I'm sure we're many knowing about it.
Isn't there some return value, or an action's status variable to check somewhere allowing to handle this easily ? Considering BGA's experience, I'd bet there is something !

Plz fix this!
In a match with several players it is even worse, because the probability of a "conflict" that two players are placing tiles at the same time is higher.
Usually this can be resolved by refreshing, however in one of my last games I placed a special tile as last move when the conflict happened. Since I could press "end turn" (placing special tiles is optional) I accidentally clicked there without pressing F5 which made me lose the match since in the next turn the tile was disappeared. This happened not only once.
It would really be an improvement to fix this problem or at least prevent that you can complete the turn, if it happens.
