Detailed description

• Please copy/paste the error message you see on your screen, if applicable.
When any player does any action: throwing dice, chossing dice even if it's just end of turn animations with hitting other players or getting energy - browser keeps telling it's about to crash (actually it just hangs). Meanwhile Activity Monitor of my MacBook shows Google Chrom Renderer consumes 100% CPU. It happens after EVERY SINGLE animation and takes 8-10 seconds to process this animation. During this process I can see blue browser screen or just static image. Chat is not working, BGA interface is not working.
Seems like there are some high def images (8k+) are resizing or something really CPU consuming is going on.
Resizing the browser could also be suuuuper slow. And background image could resize with 0.5-0.1 FPS
I would same game is totally unplayable to be honest. -

Report history
- Browser name & version
- If in-game zoom (magnifying glass on top-right corner of table) was at max or not
- When does it happens (roll dice animation, resolve dice animations, monster figures slides, all of them, ...) if possible
Zoom was indeed at max.
I will try to see again next time I move when exactly it happens, but IIRC it was on every button click that meant an interaction with the server. Meaning reserving dice was fine, but clicking on reroll meant a long delay, so did resolving dice, buying a card, etc.
KoT takes longer to load than any other game on BGA by a couple times over.
When taking my turn, everything was super laggy, particularly when resolving the dice. There was a long delay between each type of die, the energy icon fade-in/out was jerky, but the actual monster slide was fine. There also seemed to be delays with sending to and receiving from the server. But other games on BGA were all working fine. Once Chrome even put up the dialog stating the website wasn't responding.
- Zoom is at maximum
- The lagging mostly occurs during the dice throwing animations and the animations of the resolution of the dice afterwards
Safari 14 on iOS 14.6. iPhone XS.
Zoom is at maximum.
Happening with every action I take EXCEPT moving dice into locked zone. Each time I select an action like reroll, it takes 3-5 seconds to register.
- Chrome 91.0.4472.101
- in game zoom at max
- In every single game iteration. Dice rolls, resolving dice, all of them.
The game is beautifully implemented, but it's impossible to play with such loading time upon every step.
I found other two bugs which I'll report in separate items referring to the same table.
youtube.com/shorts/-G2XwnzmeGo?feature=share
- Chrome 91.0.4472.101
- Max in-game zoom (by default)
- Every action including using the in-game chat (except setting dice aside before rerolls)
And then during game all moves take way too long to complete, both on Edge and Chrome browser (latest)
I refreshed the app (pull down) and this time I timed how long it took to load. From the time the game box appeared until the time the game appeared, it took 54 seconds. This time it loaded fine. I then proceeded to take my turn, rolling dice worked fine. Then hit Resolve Dice button with one energy die and one claw to be resolved (bad roll for me). When I hit Resolve Dice, it took 6 seconds for the message "Sending move to server" to disappear. Then it sat there doing nothing, at least another 5 seconds. Then the large energy symbol jerkily appeared. Then another few seconds delay before the claw symbol appeared and slid down to Tokyo. Then another couple seconds past before I heard the sound effect and the health of the person in Tokyo finally went down.
It then immediately went to wait for the other player to decide whether to stay. They were apparently online as it came back to me within a few minutes. I then pressed "End Turn" (no card purchase). Sending move to server message appeared and I timed this one again. It took 30 seconds before it advanced to the next player.
Now given all this, my wifi router went down while I was writing this and I had to reset it (it's old). So who knows what effect that may have had on the times above. But I was just playing other games on BGA just before this without an issue.
Much improvement since yesterday. Thanks for your efforts.
- Playing with the in-zoom did not make much difference for me
- Most actions are faster than yesterday except for card resolution (for instance, when a one-time use card gets triggered) and when I ended my turn
I finally catched it, it should be OK now :)
