I think the "carbon icon" on cards should be increased in size, even if it means being less close to the actual art of the game in real life, just like they have increased the #s at Tranquility.
Also, a better system to watch the previous layer of cards. Something like Love Letter or just a "mousing over". It's not super fun to click on each pile and button separately.
In addition to what card has been played, the game log could mention what card has been played over which card, thus reducing the amount of time we have to look at the previous layers.
Finally, maybe an indicator to better keep track of what cards have been played for each element would help. -
