every expansion comes with different minefield counters
I believe you start with the Terrain Pack of 10 minefields (0 x3, 1 x2, 2 x2, 3 x2, 4x1) then add the theater's minefields, then from that pool pick the number of mines needed.
So Hellfire Pass is the Med theater: Mediterranean 1 x1 2 x2 3 x1 4 x1, which means there's a pool of:
0 x3
1 x3
2 x4
3 x3
4 x2
Hellfire Pass requires 7 mines which get pulled from those 15. Is that how it's implemented here? I have no idea but have not noticed any irregularities when playing or in the replay of your game...
I just want to avoid that you could ran into two 4s minefields. That no fun to play. I also started a thread on the BGG about that topic, because the rules say nothing (not even about the components in the expansion)
If you want I can try to reach Richard Borg (I know him personally) ...

Me and my good friend Clexton27 tested deliberately the mine fields to see if they worked out correctly.
First the mines near Tobruk where played ok if a German unit stepped on them they revealed and dices where rolled, However in the return game the values where exactly the same in the same hex
The mines at Bir El Gobi if a British unit entered disappeared with no dices rolled, A German unit did not trigger the mine which is correct.
The mines at Sidi Omar if a British unit entered disappeared with no dices rolled, A German unit did not trigger the mine which is correct.
The mines could never be all 0 mines.
Your bug has probably been fixed already, or was linked to a temporary failure of BGA service.
In any case, when filling a bug report, make sure to have an explicit title linked to the incident (ex: with error message), so other players can recognize it and vote for it.
