In practice, I find it more useful to identify the cards similarly to how it's done with Central European tarock decks (which don't have the indices I'm talking about except on the trumps), which I swear is a little slower than having an easy-to-read index in the corner.
This could benefit all Grosstarock tables; I just picked the first one that was on the list of the games I'm in. -
