This is not really about breaking the rules, but about how a bad rule is being abused
I already wrote on the forum that the timeout rule is poorly defined, because it leaves the possibility that a player can avoid defeat in the game despite a lower score.
This is a typical example.
A few moves before the end, player Andrea DF was leading in points, but then Bibine1984 played a piece that completely changed the situation. Suddenly Andrea DF is in third place and Nuno Valente is convincingly last.
At that moment, Nuno Valente stops playing and his time runs out, even though he had over 20 hours to play until that moment.
My guess is that the game will end with Nuno Velente running out of time and Andrea DF will end the game due to player timeout and thus avoid defeat. This does not change anything for Nuno Valente, because he will definitely be the last...
Also, it is possible that Nuno Valente and Andrea DF play cooperatively and that they often abuse such situations, since both of them have a large number of rating points, and it is obvious that they are not playing fair... -
