When you activate a ship, in order to move it, you highlight the hexes to which you are allowed to move by changing the background color of those hexes.
Normally, this is just fine, but if any of those hexes are occupied by either terrain (e.g. a nebula) or a ship, then it not possible to see that they are highlighted. I would propose a less 'subtle' highlighting. For example by putting a bold yellow line around those hexes. -

Report history
Actually, it was just marked by a Turn marker and with one of my ships immediately in front of his ship, which means the highlight of his only move option was hidden by my ship.
2. It does not work for new players - to whom it is most important.
(and transparent ships look really weird. :-) )
For those reasons, I would argue that this is not a solution to the problem.
Isn't it intimidating to see the Dreadnoughts overflowing their hexes?
