joezg*Perudo* is a traditional game which is played with some dice and cups. Several published editions exist with different names such as Dudo, Perudo, Liar's Dice or Bluff. There may be *slight differences* between editions, but all have the same general structure. 1mycup_wrap

joezgHere is your cup. *Only you* can see it. Throughout the game you must cleverly deduce, bluff, and try to read your opponents. By guessing incorrectly, players will lose dice and ultimately be eliminated from the game. The *last player* with dice will be the *winner*. 2mycup_wrap

joezgAt the start of every round, all of the players roll their dice secretly. The [red]red player[/red] begins by bidding five "twos". [red]Red[/red] is betting that there are at least five dice with the value of 2 amongst *all rolled dice*.1bidding_die_84353319

joezg... but there is a catch. This funny looking dice is called Paco and counts as *any* face value. So in *your cup*, there are three 3s, two 4s and 5s and one 2 and 6. 2die_4

joezgSince you do not have many 2s but you do have a lot of 3s in your cup, it is safe to switch the bet to five 3s. Please select the die with value 3 in your bidding area and select *place bid* above.3biddingbox-bid

joezgBidding continues with [green]green[/green] bidding six 2s. A player *must* either raise the number of dice or the dice value being bet. Five 5s would be a legal bet as well as six 1s. However, not five 1s, as it does not raise either the number of dice nor dice value bid.1playertables

joezgIt is your turn again. Since you have only one 2, there is no chance that your opponents have six 2s (including Pacos) between them. Or is there? ;) The only way to find out is to call dudo. This will *end the round*. All players will reveal their cups and we will see if there are indeed seven 2s in them. Please click *call dudo*.1doubt_button

However, there are some *specific rules* about bidding Pacos: - You can *never* start the bidding with Pacos. - When you bid Pacos you may *decrease the number of dice bet* by half (rounded up). joezgPlayers can *always* switch back from Pacos to *any* other value; however, the minimum number of dice bid must be *twice the pacos plus 1*. joezgThe primary goal in Perudo is not to lose dice. So here are some useful tips on deciding what to do. [tip] Try to bid as safely as possible. [tip] Try to bid in such a way that bidding doesn't come back to you. [tip] Try to leave an easy bid for the next opponent as they might take it instead of risking to call dudo.2mycup_wrap

joezgBidding two Pacos or five 2s are sound alternatives here, as both are pretty safe and would increase the chance of play not getting back to you. Bidding four 6s leaves an easy bid of two Pacos for [green]green[/green]. 3mycup_wrap

joezgBidding seven 6s here is potentially safer than seven 2s since [green]green[/green] raised, but it is not a clear cut.1mycup_wrap

joezgThere is one last undiscussed option you have. You can call *calza*. You are gambling that there is *exactly* that number of dice in the cups. If you succeed, you will get one precious die back.1calza_button

joezgCalza is a gambling move. It is usually used in late game. Although it may not be the best move here, please call Calza now.2calza_button

joezgThere was a decent chance of [green]green[/green] having exactly one 6, but unfortunately they had more. Your die is lost. [tip] with less dice towards the end of the game, Calza can become the most likely option, so keep it in mind. 1popin_tableWindow_contents
