NekonyancerIn *Yahtzee,* players will roll dice and then reroll select dice up to 2 times to make the best possible set of 5 dice. They will then select a box on their score sheet, calculate the score for the dice, and write the score in the box. [blue]*When everyone's score sheets are filled up, whoever has the most points is the winner!*[/blue]2maintitlebar_content

NekonyancerHere we have our five dice. We can select any number of them to reroll. [blue][tip] High numbers and identical numbers are generally strong in this game![/blue] *Select the [red]1[/red] and the [red]5.[/red] Then hit Re-roll!*3dice_slot_2

NekonyancerHmm, [red]*4, 4, 4, 5, 6.*[/red] This is a pretty good set! We have one more reroll available, but I think we'll stick with this.1dice_slot_2

NekonyancerNext, let's take a look at the [green]*scorecard.*[/green] There are many different categories. The first six are very similar. If we score the [blue]*"fours"*[/blue] category, we will get points for each of the fours in our set. It specifically says [blue]*"Sum of fours,"*[/blue] so our other dice will not be counted for points.2category_4

NekonyancerThe game has automatically calculated this for us. We have three 4s, so we'd get [blue]*12 points*[/blue] for this category.3cell_4_11941354

NekonyancerIf we chose to score this set for Ones, it would give us 1 point for each 1 die we had. We don't have any, so it would be worth 0 points. [green]It's still legal to choose this option though![/green]4category_1

NekonyancerDown below, we have another seven categories. These seven each have a *requirement.* If our dice do not meet the requirement, we won't get any points. You need at least 3 dice with the same number to score [red]*"three of a kind."*[/red] Just below that, it says [red]*"Sum of all dice."*[/red] This is different from the earlier categories! This category will add the values of *ALL* your dice!5category_9

NekonyancerThat's why the precalculated result is [green]+23,[/green] not [green]+12.[/green] 23 is a decent score for three of a kind, so let's score this category. *Click on the +23 box!*6cell_9_11941354

NekonyancerWe could use this set for [green]*"Full House,"*[/green] which requires *3 of a kind* and *2 of a kind* in the same set. Full House is always worth a flat 25 points though. We can score that later with low numbers.2category_13

Nekonyancer[blue]There are two special rules for Yahtzee though.[/blue] *1.* If we manage to score points from the Yahtzee category (requiring 5 of a kind), and then we get *another* 5 of a kind and use it somewhere else, another *100* points will be added to our Yahtzee score!2category_14

Nekonyancer*2.* Let's say you roll five 3s. If the [red]*Yahtzee*[/red] category and the [red]*Threes*[/red] category have already been filled, you can use the roll as a Straight or Full House instead.3category_14

NekonyancerNext, I need to explain the [blue]*Bonus.*[/blue] It's not a scorable category in itself, but if the sum of your first six categories is at least *63,* you'll score an extra *35* points! The negative number [red]*here*[/red] shows how many points you need from your remaining unscored categories.4category_7

NekonyancerThe game will continue as you've seen for exactly *13 rounds,* which is the number of available scoring categories on the score sheet. [green]After that, whoever has the most points wins![/green]5archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment

NekonyancerIf you get tired of Yahtzee, I suggest checking out one of the *variants* in the lobby options! They use mostly the same mechanics, but some use different numbers of dice and rerolls. NekonyancerFinally, if you want to speed up the game, you might consider *simultaneous mode.* With this engaged, all players will be able to take each turn at the same time.
