Unfortunately, some interactive elements won't work in this tutorial, but we can still learn this great game!

NekonyancerIn *Space Base*, players assume the role of a Commodore in command of a small fleet of ships. Ships begin docked at their stations and are then deployed to sectors as new ships are commissioned under your command.2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment000
NekonyancerOn each turn, the active player *rolls two dice,* which trigger rewards, depending on the ships under each player's control.
Then, the active player can *purchase a new ship.*
Reaching 40 points will trigger the end!3archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment000
NekonyancerThis is your *command console.* As you can see, you start with twelve ships under your control, one in each of twelve slots.
These slots are called *sectors,* and the ships there are [blue]*stationed*[/blue] in those sectors.
4playerBoard_L_11941354000playerBoard_L_11941354 6 playerBoard_R_11941354 6
NekonyancerYou are also granted one random card to start with.
The number in the top right is *4.* This means the ship will be [blue]*stationed*[/blue] in *sector 4* on our command console.
*Click on this ship to accept it, and watch what happens!*5cardImg_12010cardImg_12 6
NekonyancerIt just [blue]*replaced*[/blue] our old ship in *Sector 4!* So what happened to our old ship?
It was flipped over and tucked under our command console so that only the [red]*red tab*[/red] was showing.
The old ship is now [red]*deployed*[/red]. (More on deployment later.)1cardImg_1262191a084bd9600cardImg_12 7 cardImg_153 6
NekonyancerTime for our first turn!
We just rolled two dice and got *2 & 5.*
We now have two choices:
- Activate the sectors corresponding to each die.
OR
- Activate the sector corresponding to the *sum* of the dice.1dice1_side262191a3d2961100dice1_side2 6 dice2_side5 6
NekonyancerThat means we can either:
[blue]*- activate our stationed ships in sectors 2 & 5*[/blue]
OR
[blue]*- activate our one stationed ship in sector 7.*[/blue]2cardImg_15162191a3d2961100cardImg_151 7 cardImg_154 7 cardImg_156 7
NekonyancerNow, look at the [blue]*blue rectangle*[/blue] on each card. Our sector 2 & 5 ships show that they grant *1 credit each.*
Our sector 7 ship grants *3 credits.*3cardImg_15162191a3d2961100
NekonyancerIt looks like we'll get more money by activating our *sector 7* ship, so we'll take that!
Click continue.4cardImg_15162191a3d2961100
NekonyancerGreat! We got 3 credits, giving us a total of 7 credits this turn.
Now look at all the ships for sale down here! This is called the *shipyard*.1rank1CardBack62191a5035b9500rank1CardBack 12 ship1_item_19 11 rank2CardBack 12 ship2_item_79 11 rank3CardBack 12 ship3_item_100 11
NekonyancerAs you can see, there are *three rows* in the shipyard. Cards in the first row are the weakest and cheapest.
The *cost* for each ship is shown in the *top-left corner* of each card. Looks like we can afford a ship from the second row this turn! Lucky us!
2rank1CardBack62191a5035b9500
NekonyancerThis ship looks good.
*Click on it to buy it!*3cardClass_9162191a5035b9510ship2_item_91 16
NekonyancerGreat! We spent all our money, and that ship is now [blue]*stationed*[/blue] in *sector 10.* This ended our turn.
1cardImg_9162191a9325ad400
NekonyancerAs we ended our turn, our credits were *reset* to match our *income* level, which is marked by this symbol: [img]https://x2.boardgamearena.net/data/tutorials/https___x.boardgamearena.net_data_tutorials_https___snipboard.io_W6wnv2.jpg[/img]
Since our income is 0, our credits were set to 0 too.2player_board_1194135462191a9325ad400panelGold_11941354 6 panelIncome_11941354 6
NekonyancerThe ship we just bought will increase our income by 3... but only if we roll a *ten* to activate it!
When we do, our credits will be reset to 3 at the end of each round instead of 0!3cardImg_9162191a9325ad400cardImg_91 6
NekonyancerIt's our opponent's turn now, and they just rolled *4 & 5.*
Just like on our turn, those dice will trigger rewards for us.
On our turn, we got rewards from our [blue]*stationed ships*[/blue]. But now, on our opponent's turn, we'll get rewards from our [red]*deployed ships.*[/red]4dice1_side462191a9325ad400dice1_side4 6 dice2_side5 6
NekonyancerThe colors can help you keep track.
[blue]*Blue*[/blue] things (stationed ships) trigger on *YOUR* turn.
[red]*Red*[/red] things (deployed ships) trigger on your *OPPONENTS'* turns.5archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62191a9325ad400
NekonyancerNow we have to choose. We can trigger our [red]*deployed*[/red] ships...
- in sectors 4 and 5
OR
- in sector 9. (The sum of the dice.)6cardImg_1262191a9325ad400
NekonyancerWe don't have any ships in sector 9, but we have one in sector 4! It will give us 1 credit.
*Click 4 at the top!*7cardImg_1262191a9325ad410cardImg_153 6
NekonyancerIt's our next turn now. We rolled 2 & 3.
That means we can trigger our [blue]*stationed*[/blue] ships in sectors *2 & 3*, getting 2 money, or in sector *5*, getting 1.
2 & 3 are obviously the better option here!2cardImg_15162191a9b3403b00cardImg_151 7 cardImg_152 7 cardImg_154 7
NekonyancerTogether with the 1 credit we got from our opponent's roll, we have 3 credits this turn.
*Let's buy this ship here!* We need to increase our income, and this ship will help us do that!1ship1_item_4662191aab67f7c10ship1_item_46 16
NekonyancerGreat! Seems like you're getting the hang of it.
We're going to start skipping some steps now...1dice1_side162191aaed6d1800
NekonyancerLet's buy this ship now! It displays a *rocket*. Rockets are victory points, so every time we activate it, we'll get 1 VP!
Remember, reaching 40 points will trigger the end!
Click continue.1ship1_item_4162191ad9d05eb00ship1_item_41 16
NekonyancerWe rolled *4 & 6*. If we chose those numbers separately, we would get 1 credit and 1 victory point.
But if we choose *10*, we increase our income by 3! That's a big deal! We're definitely taking that!
Click continue.2cardClass_4162191b0e801ba00
NekonyancerWe just bought a very special ship. Whenever you see boxes on a ship, that means it has an ability that must be *charged.*
When we activate this ship, it will receive a *charge cube*. We can then use that charge cube on one of our later turns to reroll our dice!1cardImg_7962191b594b68f00cardImg_79 7
NekonyancerHere's another interesting ship.
Like the previous ship, it needs to *charge up.* When it uses a charge cube, we can increase the sum of the dice by 1!
1cardImg_2362191b8f4070100
NekonyancerNotice that this ship's ability is [green]*green*[/green]. Green is a mixture of blue and red. That means you can use this any time - on [blue]your turns[/blue] or [red]your opponents' turns[/red]!
It has to be charged first though!
!!! Note that using this on your opponent's turn only affects the sum for you, not for your opponent.2cardImg_2362191b8f4070100cardImg_23 8
NekonyancerFor example, if your opponent rolled a *9*, you could use this ship to trigger your [red]*deployed*[/red] ships in *sector 10* instead of *9.* However, it would still be a *9* for your opponent.3cardImg_2362191b8f4070100
NekonyancerPlay will continue as you've seen. Players take turns rolling dice, activating blue effects on their turns and red effects on opponents' turns. They buy ships, get more and more powerful, and eventually start earning victory points (rockets).
There's just one more thing to teach you! *Scroll down, then click continue!*4cardImg_2362191b8f4070100
NekonyancerThese are *colony ships.*
They have a credit cost in the top-left and a sector assignment in the top right, just like any ship.
However, these ships, once purchased, will *immediately* grant you the victory points shown. They are not activated by dice rolls.5pointShip_item_13762191b8f4070100pointShip_item_137 6 pointShip_item_138 6 pointShip_item_139 6 pointShip_item_140 6 pointShip_item_141 6 pointShip_item_142 6 pointShip_item_143 6 pointShip_item_144 6 pointShip_item_145 6 pointShip_item_146 6 pointShip_item_147 6 pointShip_item_148 6
Nekonyancer!!! What's more, they are stationed in your sectors *permanently!* !!!
So if you buy this colony ship here, it will be stationed in sector 1. It will be stuck there, so you can never again get [blue]blue[/blue] rewards from rolling 1s, and you can never buy new ships for sector 1!
Your [red]deployed[/red] ships in sector 1 will still work, though.6pointShip_item_13762191b8f4070100pointShip_item_137 7
NekonyancerThese colony ships thus make you much weaker, but they're good to buy at the end of the game to help you reach 40 VP!
When one player reaches 40, play will continue until all players have had the *same number of turns*. Then the game will end, and whoever has the most points wins!7pointShip_item_13762191b8f4070100
NekonyancerAnd that's it!
If you ever get confused, just hover your mouse over a ship. The tooltip will explain what the ship does!
Now get out there and win some games! :)8archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62191b8f4070100
