KeldeofusIn Quirky Quarks, [green]your goal is to collect particles to complete quests, which worth points ![/green]2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment000
KeldeofusThis game is played over 5 rounds. Each one is played in 5 phases. The [blue]first phase[/blue] is skipped during the first round because it's included in the setup of the game.3archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment000
KeldeofusBefore we start the second phase, let's get acquainted with the two different types of cards : [green]Elementary particle[/green] and [red]Quests[/red]. 4archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment000QQ-card-particles-7 1
KeldeofusLet's look at the first one : [img]https://x.boardgamearena.net/data/tutorials/img6785ed4f5d5c20.95711974.jpg[/img] 1. Card icon, ex : ū/đ 2. Card name, ex : Anti-up or Anti-down quark 3. Additional informations 4. Science fact about the particle5archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment000
KeldeofusAnd the second one : [img]https://x.boardgamearena.net/data/tutorials/img6785ed4f89c769.86125327.jpg[/img] 1. Quest icon 2. Name 3. Cost 4. Some quests have powers 5. Science fact 6. Point value of the quest6archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment000
KeldeofusWe start the game with [blue]8 ev[/blue] ( money of the game ) and [blue]4 cards[/blue] ( 3 particles and 1 Quest I ). In the research phase, players bid on particle accelerators to claim cards. Here bid [red]one[/red] on LHC accelerator to claim [green]the cards[/green] under it. [img]https://x.boardgamearena.net/data/tutorials/img6785ed4fbc09b5.52868488.jpg[/img]7archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment010player_board_inner_FF0000 2
KeldeofusOh, your opponent bid 2 ev more than you ! But you need the cards under the LHC. Note : The research phase ends when each player has a bid in play. [blue]Bid 4[/blue] on LHC and let's see what lilipaon will do.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment655b7d7927c9f10
KeldeofusCool, you got the cards ! Your opponent chose to take [green]Tevatron's cards[/green] so as each player has a bid in play, the phase ends.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment655b7da4641af00QQ-card-particles-58 3 QQ-card-particles-77 3 QQ-card-quests_I-7 3
KeldeofusNow, it's time for the third phase ( ejection phase ). In this phase, you need to put cards into the [blue]discovery zone[/blue]. You must put a card from your hand for every 5 cards in it. Note : you earn one ev for every ejected card2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment655b7da467c2900
KeldeofusHere, you have 9 cards, so you must put one of them into the [blue]zone[/blue]. You don't need the [red]Photon[/red] card, so eject [red]this one[/red] by selecting it and then clicking on Eject.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment655b7dc145d2b10QQ-card-particles-7 1 QQ-card-particles-17 2 QQ-card-particles-18 2 QQ-card-particles-9 2 QQ-card-particles-76 2 QQ-card-quests_I-16 2 QQ-card-quests_I-21 2
KeldeofusIt's the last phase ( discovery phase ) before you can complete your Quests ! In this fourth phase, you can bid on cards from the discovery zone. You need a gluon for [red]PION[/red] quest so you should bid on one gluon. Select the gluon then choose how many ev you want to bid ( at least 2 ). Here choose 2.1QQ-card-quests_I-10655b7df714e6210QQ-card-quests_I-10 1 QQ-card-particles-9 16
KeldeofusThe opponent bid on [blue]Photon[/blue] but you don't need it. Moreover, you don't have much ev. It's better to keep them. So, pass.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment655b7e0eb546810QQpassButton 6 QQ-card-particles-7 2
KeldeofusThere is 2 turns in the discovery phase. The minimal bid during the second one is 3. You don't need more cards, so [red]pass[/red].1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment655b7e17235a310QQpassButton 6
KeldeofusIn the last phase ( quest phase ), you pay particles to complete quests. Here you want to complete PION. It costs a "Down Quark", an "Anti-up or Anti-Down Quark" and a "Gluon". Select PION and click on complete quest to place it active in your [blue]quest zone[/blue].1QQ-card-quests_I-10655b7e3e9cd8a10QQ-questsZone-85024540 2
KeldeofusYou can complete as many quests as you want, as long as you have enough particles. [green][tip] :[/green] You can exchange 3 identical particles into another one. Quests II cannot be completed until the 4th round. Some of them cost already played cards. [img]https://x.boardgamearena.net/data/tutorials/img6785ed4ff13fc7.04433726.jpg[/img] To pay this card, you would have to discard a gluon and two already played neutrons 1archiveCommentElementPointerTargetInner655b7ed1a50be00
KeldeofusIn the first phase ( funding phase ), you earn 3 ev and 1 card from the deck you choose. The starting physicist token is given to the next player. Here we can draw 2 cards thanks to the PION power. First draw a quest I card.1QQ-quests_I-deck655b7f08c315e10
KeldeofusThen, draw an element particle.2QQ-particles-deck655b7f2723a0e10
KeldeofusAll rounds proceed the same except for the 5th in wich there are [red]2 exceptions[/red] : - In the [blue]ejection phase[/blue] you can eject as many cards as you want. - In the [green]discovery phase[/green] you are allowed to bid more than 2 times but the minimal ev requirement increase by one each turn.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment655b7f30adf3e00
KeldeofusAt the end of the game, you earn points from your cards ( in the stars and from the powers ) and your ev ( one point per ev ). The player with the most points becomes the Nobel Laureate in physics and wins the game. In case of a tie : the player with the most remaining cards in hand wins. If there's still a tie : the first player in the turn order wins.2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment655b7f30adf3e00
Keldeofus[green]*Thank you for playing through this tutorial about Quirky Quarks !*[/green] I wish you good luck in the quantum world :) ! 3archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment655b7f30adf3e00
