Nekonyancer[img]https://x.boardgamearena.net/data/tutorials/img6785edd5e10d72.86362829.jpg[/img] The queen is dying! The crown will pass to whoever builds the most pristine garden around a mystical pagoda. Will it be you? [green][tip] This tutorial is best viewed on a computer![/green]1maintitlebar_content000
NekonyancerTo construct gardens, players must play cards from their hands to take actions. [blue]These actions include...[/blue] - Laying groundwork. - Collecting resources from the Pagoda. - Allocating those resources onto their cards.2maintitlebar_content000
NekonyancerUpon finishing garden segments, players will advance on *God tracks.* If they finish an entire *panorama,* they can take a bonus tile to increase their efficiency! [green]When one player finishes their 10th card, whoever has advanced the farthest on all the God tracks wins![/green]3maintitlebar_content000
NekonyancerEach player starts the game with *five cards* in their hand. Earn turn, we can play *three* of them, performing one of the aforementioned actions with each card. [blue]We'll start with the *lay groundwork* action.[/blue] It involves simply laying a card on the table in front of us so we can begin construction on it.4player_hand_11941354_item_player_hand_11941354_7000
Nekonyancer*Select this card.* You should be able to see three different options at the top. *Click on [blue]"Lay Groundwork!"[/blue] Then [blue]"Confirm!"[/blue]*5player_hand_11941354_item_player_hand_11941354_7010player_hand_11941354_item_player_hand_11941354_7 16
NekonyancerGood! This card represents 1 part of a *panorama,* which is a part of our garden. There are five differently colored panoramas in the game. In the top-right corner of the card, we can see which panorama it belongs to and which slot it occupies within that panorama.1player_construct_11941354_item_player_construct_11941354_766c18f1f4339800
Nekonyancer[blue]For example, in the corner of our card, we can see that...[/blue] - Our card is part of the *purple* panorama. - The purple panorama has *two* slots. - Our card will occupy the *second* slot. [img]https://x.boardgamearena.net/data/tutorials/img6785edd60bd099.66846958.jpg[/img]2player_construct_11941354_item_player_construct_11941354_766c18f1f4339800
NekonyancerNext, take a look at this card! It will fill the *first* slot in the *same* panorama, completing it. Completing a panorama will help us a lot, so let's *lay groundwork* with this card too. *Select this card. Click on [blue]"Lay Groundwork." "Confirm."[/blue]*3player_hand_11941354_item_player_hand_11941354_166c18f1f4339810player_hand_11941354_item_player_hand_11941354_1 16
Nekonyancer*Good!* Now we've laid the groundwork for two cards. We are only allowed to have *three at a time.*1player_construct_11941354_item_player_construct_11941354_166c18f245fab500
NekonyancerTo finish constructing these segments, we'll need to fulfill their resource requirements. As you've probably already guessed, those requirements are indicated by the icons on the *bottom half* of each card. For example, this card needs [red]*2 stone.*[/red]2res_construct_7_1_1194135466c18f245fab500res_construct_7_0_11941354 1 res_construct_7_1_11941354 1
NekonyancerTo get resources, we'll need to activate an icon in the top-right corner of a card, just under its panorama info. [blue]There are two different icons you can find there:[/blue] [img]https://x.boardgamearena.net/data/tutorials/img6785edd62e10f0.98348419.jpg[/img]*: Take a wild.* [img]https://x.boardgamearena.net/data/tutorials/img6785edd6503108.51695396.jpg[/img]*: Rotate and collect.*3player_hand_11941354_item_player_hand_11941354_4766c18f245fab500
NekonyancerThe *Take a wild* action is simple enough. We can take any resource - water, wood, or grass - and place it directly on one of our [red]*groundwork cards.*[/red] It's definitely a useful action, but if we always add just one resource at a time, it will take forever to build our gardens!4player_hand_11941354_item_player_hand_11941354_6566c18f245fab500player_construct_11941354_item_player_construct_11941354_7 1 player_construct_11941354_item_player_construct_11941354_1 1
NekonyancerLet's use the other resource action: *Rotate & Collect.* With this action, we must rotate one floor of the *Pagoda.* We will then gain resources from it in the indicated direction.5player_hand_11941354_item_player_hand_11941354_4766c18f245fab500
NekonyancerFor example, this card will let us rotate the [green]*second level*[/green] of the pagoda, which gives players grass. Afterward, we'll gain resources from each level of the pagoda, starting from the bottom, until our [blue]*inventory*[/blue] is full. Let's do it! *Click on the card. Select the Rotate & Collect icon.*6player_hand_11941354_item_player_hand_11941354_4766c18f245fab510wall_2 8 planning_tile_878482 2 player_hand_11941354_item_player_hand_11941354_47 16
NekonyancerYou should be able to see a couple arrows on the side of the pagoda now. *Go ahead and play around with them for a bit.* As you can see, each level of the pagoda is associated with a different resource. The pagoda has four sides, and each side of a level grants *0/1/2/3* of its associated resource.1player_hand_11941354_item_player_hand_11941354_6566c18f724ab7601
Nekonyancer[blue]Three more things to note:[/blue] - We *must* rotate the pagoda. We can't leave it as it is. - We can only rotate *90 degrees* in either direction. - All the floors above the indicated floor will rotate as well. The levels below will not.2player_hand_11941354_item_player_hand_11941354_6566c18f724ab7601
NekonyancerClick on the right arrow so that the pagoda displays 3 stone, 1 grass, 0 wood, and 3 water. *Then click on [blue]"Take Resources"[/blue] at the top!*3player_hand_11941354_item_player_hand_11941354_6566c18f724ab7610
NekonyancerGreat! We gained all the resources shown on our side of the pagoda, starting from the bottom. 3 stone, then 1 grass, then 3 water. Unfortunately, our [blue]*inventory*[/blue] only has room for four resources, so we couldn't take any water!1planning_tile_87848266c18f7aed66000planning_tile_878482 2
NekonyancerOkay, that was our *third* action, so we can't play any more cards. At the end of our turn, we must *draw three cards* to bring us back up to 5. You'll see the [green]*available cards*[/green] if you scroll down a little.2maintitlebar_content66c18f7aed66000available_cards_item_available_cards_98 8 public_cards_item_public_cards_32 8 public_cards_item_public_cards_46 8 public_cards_item_public_cards_51 8
NekonyancerThere will always be [green]*three cards*[/green] for us to choose from, as well as whichever card is on top of the [red]*deck. *[/red]3public_cards_item_public_cards_3266c18f7aed66000available_cards_item_available_cards_98 6 public_cards_item_public_cards_32 8 public_cards_item_public_cards_46 8 public_cards_item_public_cards_51 8
Nekonyancer*Click on this card to take it!*4public_cards_item_public_cards_5166c18f7aed66010public_cards_item_public_cards_51 16
NekonyancerNote that the card we took was not immediately replaced. That will happen after we've selected three cards. *Next, take the card on top of the deck...*1available_cards_item_available_cards_9866c18f90042b110available_cards_item_available_cards_98 16
Nekonyancer... *and then this aqua card!*1public_cards_item_public_cards_3266c18f9450e0b10public_cards_item_public_cards_32 16
NekonyancerOkay, we took three cards! Our [red]*hand*[/red] is full, and our turn ended. The [blue]*supply*[/blue] was refilled with more cards from the deck. [blue]Now our opponent will take their turn![/blue]1player_hand_11941354_item_player_hand_11941354_6566c18fa29cbe300public_cards 7 player_hand_11941354 6
NekonyancerWe know a little bit about our opponent's options. They're sitting *across* from us at the table, so they're looking at the *opposite* side of the pagoda: 1 stone, 3 grass, 2 wood, and 1 water. Of course, if they take resources from it, they'll need to rotate part of it first.2player_construct_11941354_item_player_construct_11941354_766c18fa29cbe300
NekonyancerAlso, our opponent is physically holding their cards in their hand. That means we can see the backs of their cards! *Scroll down until you find [red]their hand![/red]* As you can see, they only have Aqua and Blue cards in their hand, so we can expect them to go for one (or even both) of those colors.3maintitlebar_content66c18fa29cbe300player_hand_92143487 6
NekonyancerOkay, our opponent laid groundwork with all three of their actions, then took three new cards. [blue]Now it's our turn again![/blue]1maintitlebar_content66c18fe7df7e600
NekonyancerLet's start by activating the *handcart* icon on a card to *reallocate resources.* Every card in the game has this icon. [img]https://x.boardgamearena.net/data/tutorials/img6785edd66c71f3.54525889.jpg[/img] *Click on this card to use it. Then select the cart at the top!*2player_hand_11941354_item_player_hand_11941354_1566c18fe7df7e610player_hand_11941354_item_player_hand_11941354_15 16
Nekonyancer*Reallocation* involves selecting resources in our inventory and moving them onto matching icons on our groundwork cards. We can also discard them. *Select [red]this stone.[/red] Move it [blue]here.[/blue]*1planning_tile_87848266c1900f4905d10res_construct_7_0_11941354 7 res_holder_0_11941354_item_1 6
Nekonyancer*Select [red]this stone[/red] and move it [blue]here.[/blue]*1planning_tile_87848266c190122493610res_construct_7_1_11941354 7 res_holder_1_11941354_item_1 6
Nekonyancer*Select [red]this stone[/red] and move it [blue]here.[/blue]*1planning_tile_87848266c1901563c8710res_construct_1_0_11941354 7 res_holder_2_11941354_item_1 6
Nekonyancer*Select [green]this grass[/green] and move it [blue]here.[/blue]*1planning_tile_87848266c19017f3db010res_construct_1_2_11941354 7 res_holder_3_11941354_item_1 8
NekonyancerGreat! *Click on [blue]"Confirm and pass!"[/blue]*1actionBtn_PASSCART66c1901aeb8ea10actionBtn_PASSCART 2
NekonyancerSince we fulfilled this card's requirements, we must *complete* it, moving it to our *completed cards* area. When we do, we will advance on the *God Track* that matches the icon in the top-left corner.[img]https://x.boardgamearena.net/data/tutorials/img6785edd68b99f8.87677009.jpg[/img] *Click here!*1actionBtn_chooseCardSCORE766c1901e09ab610actionBtn_chooseCardSCORE7 16
NekonyancerAs you can see, there are four different god tracks. Each player always starts on the *3-point step* of each track. *Click on the icon at the top to advance on the fuchsia track!*1maintitlebar_content66c190202a6be10actionBtn_SCORE7_red 16
Nekonyancer*Great!* The god tracks were tucked away, but if you click on [red]*"Toggle score"*[/red] button to bring it back, you'll see that we advanced to the *4-point step* in the Fuchsia track.1score_bar66c19022750e400
NekonyancerAt the end of the game, each player will score the points indicated on the step they are on in each god track. We are currently on *3 / 3 / 4 / 3,* so if the game somehow ended right now, we would have [green]*13 points.*[/green]2player_score_1194135466c19022750e400player_score_11941354 3
NekonyancerBelow our point total, it shows that we have played [red]*1 / 10 cards.*[/red] When one player plays their *tenth* card, it will trigger the end of the game.3numerator1194135466c19022750e400numerator11941354 1 denominator11941354 1
NekonyancerIf you *scroll down,* you'll see that the card we completed was [red]*flipped over,*[/red] displaying part of a beautiful scene.4player_name_1194135466c19022750e400panorama_2_11941354_item_panorama_2_11941354_77 1
NekonyancerBy the way, we do not have to complete panorama cards in order, nor do subsequent cards need to be adjacent to previously completed cards. [green]In other words, we can complete them in any order we like.[/green] The only thing we can't do is build two cards with the *same slot.* BGA won't even let us lay groundwork for the second one.5panorama_2_1194135466c19022750e400
NekonyancerOur turn isn't over! We just emptied our inventory, so let's get more resources. *Select on this card. Click on the Rotate & Collect icon at the top.*6player_hand_11941354_item_player_hand_11941354_2866c19022750e410player_hand_11941354_item_player_hand_11941354_28 16
NekonyancerThe card we selected lets us rotate the *third* floor (and the fourth, along with it). We will then collect resources from the top, going down. *Rotate the pagoda so it displays 2 water and 3 wood. Then click on [blue]"Take Resources"[/blue] at the top!*1planning_tile_87848266c1902c7603f10
Nekonyancer*Great!* We ended up with 2 water and 2 wood. We did not have room for the third wood or any grass or stone.1planning_tile_87848266c190906b62b00
NekonyancerWe have one action left. It would probably be best to lay groundwork for more cards and then reallocate again, but I want to show you what happens when we complete a panorama! *Select this card. Click on the cart at the top to reallocate resources.*2player_hand_11941354_item_player_hand_11941354_3266c190906b62b10player_hand_11941354_item_player_hand_11941354_32 16
NekonyancerIn retrospect, it would have been much better to instead use the wild resource action on [green]*this card.*[/green] We could have taken one wood and placed it directly on our groundwork card, bypassing the inventory completely. Oh well. *Select [red]this wood.[/red] Place it [blue]here.[/blue]*1planning_tile_87848266c1909d9b4f510res_construct_1_1_11941354 7 res_holder_2_11941354_item_1 6 player_hand_11941354_item_player_hand_11941354_65 3
NekonyancerNext, *click on [blue]"Confirm and pass!"[/blue]*1actionBtn_PASSCART66c190a476c3910actionBtn_PASSCART 2
NekonyancerOur card's resource needs have been met. *Click here to complete the card!*1actionBtn_chooseCardSCORE166c190a6c071c10actionBtn_chooseCardSCORE1 16
NekonyancerAs you can see at the top, we can now advance on not one, but *two* god tracks: the one indicated on the card we just completed, plus all the icons on previously completed cards in the same panorama! *Click here to advance on the blue track!*1actionBtn_SCORE1_blue66c190a8233f210actionBtn_SCORE1_blue 16
NekonyancerBy the way, if a player reaches the 10-point step and then advances again, all the other players will move back one step instead. This can cause some player markers to *fall off* the track. [red]Any markers that fall off cannot get back on![/red] *Click here to advance on the fuchsia track!*1actionBtn_SCORE7_red66c190b07da3110actionBtn_SCORE7_red 16
NekonyancerWe have now completed the Purple panorama! [img]https://x.boardgamearena.net/data/tutorials/img6785edd6ac3030.33340730.jpg[/img] [blue]It's beautiful![/blue] 😍 Whenever a player completes a panorama, they can take a *bonus tile.*1tk_btn_566c190b216ba700
NekonyancerThere are three types of bonus tiles. [red]*This type*[/red] simply grants *victory points.* The *first* tile of this type is worth 4 points. The next one is only worth 3, then 2 and 1.2tk_btn_166c190b216ba700actionBtn_chooseTokenPoints 1
Nekonyancer[blue]*This type*[/blue] allows us to immediately take some wild resources and place them directly on our groundwork cards. The first tile of this type grants 4 resources. The next only grants 3, then 2, and 2.3actionBtn_chooseTokenJolly66c190b216ba700actionBtn_chooseTokenJolly 2
Nekonyancer[green]*This type*[/green] permanently increases a player's inventory size by 1. Since it's so early in the game, I think this tile will be the best for us. *[green]Click here![/green]*4actionBtn_chooseTokenCart66c190b216ba710actionBtn_chooseTokenCart 3
Nekonyancer*Great!* Now we can hold up to *5* resources at a time! That was our last action, so it's time to draw more cards. Scroll down for the next box.1extra_1194135466c190bf1afda00
NekonyancerWow! There are three blue cards in the supply, and they're all of different slots! This is amazingly lucky! Our opponent probably should have blocked some of these. *Take this card...*2public_cards_item_public_cards_7066c190bf1afda10public_cards_item_public_cards_70 16
Nekonyancer*... and this one...*1public_cards_item_public_cards_5566c190cebc3d010public_cards_item_public_cards_55 16
Nekonyancer*... and this one!*1available_cards_item_available_cards_12766c190d016a2010available_cards_item_available_cards_127 16
NekonyancerWe have almost all the cards we need for the blue panorama! We just need Slot #1. [green]We're off to a fantastic start![/green]1player_hand_11941354_item_player_hand_11941354_7066c190d20cd9b00
Nekonyancer[green]Okay, I think you've seen enough![/green] Remember, the end of the game will be triggered when one player completes their [red]*tenth*[/red] card. The game will continue until everyone has had the same number of turns.2denominator1194135466c190d20cd9b00numerator11941354 1 denominator11941354 1
NekonyancerThen BGA will count the points! [blue]Each player gains points from...[/blue] - The step they're on for each God track. - Bonus tiles. [blue]Tiebreaker 1:[/blue] highest number of completed cards. [blue]Tiebreaker 2:[/blue] largest completed panorama.3player_name_1194135466c190d20cd9b00
