DogEgg258Welcome to *Paper World*, a 2-4 player card placing game. You are a traveler trying to recreate the landscapes you've seen, using layers of paper. Stack the landscapes you find to have the most victory points at the end of the game. [red]!!! Make sure you *act as told* before you select the button confirm[/red]. F5 refresh the page if it is jam. 1topbar_content000
DogEgg258On your turn, you must either [red]*take* card(s)[/red] from the table or [blue]*place* card(s)[/blue] from your hand to your front. In both cases, the rule is the same: take / place cards of the [green]same *color*[/green] or the [green]same *value*[/green]. 2pw_zone_market_0000
DogEgg258[blue]*DogEgg*[/blue] took 2 green cards from the table. You can always check this out in the game log. [tip] To take card(s), you must announce either *all the cards of the same* value *or* color. *Select any 4*, and you can see the option for the same value(3x 4) or the same color (1x corresponding color). We want to take 3 4s, so select the button *[3x 4]* and then [red]*Confirm*[/red]. 1pw_token_667a97381842e710pw_card_back_8 16
DogEgg258Look! There is a 5 on the table. We must take it! [tip] In the deck, there are numbers 1-5 in 4 colors. You can check out the *Card distribution* if you scroll down. In a 2-player game, there are only one 5 for each color. Let's take all blue. [tip] Select one blue card and select [blue]*[2x Water]*[/blue] or directly select both blue cards. And then [red]*Confirm*[/red]. 1maintitlebar_content67a973a2aab3f10pw_card_back_11 17
DogEgg258You can never have more than 9 cards in your hand. We must now place card(s) onto the table. When placing multiple cards, these cards must be [green]in the same *value* or *color*[/green]. Of course, you do not need to place them all. A "1" must only be placed in an empty spot, which orthogonally adjacent to an exist card. A "2" must be placed on a "1" of the same color. A "3" must be placed on a "2" of the same color, and so on. [blue]Cards in a pile must be placed in *ascending order starting from 1*, always of the same color. [/blue]1topbar_content67a973d26e04c00
DogEgg258In the current situation, let's place all 1 in our hands. Select a black 1 in your hand and place it next to the existing 1. After you know how to place cards, just click continue and we will move forward. 2topbar_content67a973d26e04c00
DogEgg258We have completed the left goal: [green]*L-shape of the same color* [/green]in any direction. Since we are the first to complete it, we take 2 stars. 1pw_token_167a973e30f3da00pw_card_back_21 8 pw_card_back_7 8 pw_card_back_23 8
DogEgg258There are *Scissors icons* on some cards. [img]https://x.boardgamearena.net/data/tutorials/img67b45aec547860.99530086.jpg[/img] When you place them, you can place the *scissors token* onto the card. Let's place the [blue]blue 2[/blue] onto the top-left blue card and select [red]*Take Scissors*[/red]. Select [blue]*continue*[/blue] after you see the *scissors token* is moved to the blue card. [red]!!! Do not select the *End Turn* button, or you will not be able to move according to the tutorial[/red].1topbar_content67a974497461e00pw_card_back_15 18
DogEgg258Since we have placed a [blue]*2*[/blue], we can *either [blue]place the rest blue cards[/blue]* or [green]*the other 2*[/green] from our hand. Once a turn, you can [blue]discard a card from your hand[/blue] to *skip a number in the ascending order* . If you own the [red]scissors token[/red], you can do it *for free* (don't discard) while still you can skip only once a turn. The [red]scissors token[/red] will block you from placing card onto it, until it is removed by any player. For now, we can place a [blue]*3*[/blue] onto the [blue]*1*[/blue] (skip [blue]*2*[/blue]). Or, we can place a [green]*2*[/green] to an empty spot (skip [green]*1*[/green]). [tip] Let's place the [green]*2*[/green] to the left of the [blue]*1*[/blue]. 2maintitlebar_content67a974497461e00
DogEgg258[blue]*DogEgg258*[/blue] took the *scissors token from us* and completed the middle goal (a line with a value of 9). If we complete this goal, we can only take 1 star. When only *2 piles* of cards *remaining in the center* (where you take cards from) at the end of a player's turn, the *end game* is triggered. Each player, including the one who triggered the end of the game, plays one more turn. 1archiveCommentElementPointerTargetInner67a9746fe986700pw_card_back_1 1
DogEgg258At the end of the game, all the *visible stars* in front of you are the VP you get. You can get stars from: 1. All the visible cards 2. Goal token you get 3. Scissors provide 2 stars at the end And you will lose 1 star for each card in your *hand* and your *discard pile*. The player with the most stars wins. In case of a tie, the player with the fewest cards in their discard pile wins. For example: [img]https://x.boardgamearena.net/data/tutorials/img67b45aed645825.43891233.jpg[/img] [blue]*DogEgg258*[/blue] gains 19 stars from the visible cards while 5 stars from the tokens. He has 1 card in his discard pile and 2 cards in his hand. And so he gets 19+5-3=21 Stars. 2maintitlebar_content67a9746fe986700
DogEgg258[tip] Let's make a fast review. In your turn, you must either [red]*take* card(s)[/red] or [blue]*place* card(s)[/blue], with [green]the same *color* or *value*[/green]. Cards in a pile must be in *ascending order* one by one. You can *skip a number once a turn*. To do this you must [red]*discarding* a card[/red] from your hand [blue]unless you own the *scissors* token[/blue]. End game trigger when *2 piles remain (where you take cards from) *and all players *take their last turn*. *VP = visible stars - cards in hand - cards in discard pile*3maintitlebar_content67a9746fe986700
DogEgg258*That's all you need to know to play [blue]Paper World[/blue]! * Thank you for playing through this tutorial. If you think this tutorial is good, I hope you can give it a five-star rating. Have a nice day! For any question or comments about the tutorial, feel free to send *DogEgg258* a message! 4maintitlebar_content67a9746fe986700
